Founded by producer, songwriter and frontman Jack Angus Golightly (Jango) in 2018, Jango Flash are a 5-piece ‘Kamikaze’ rock and roll band from Newcastle, England.
Born out of the incestuous cauldron of northern music, Jango Flash were to be spat out, breathing hybrid energy into guitar music and dragging their listeners through a threshold into their strange world.
During the pandemic, they have made waves playing live on Radio 1, being tipped an annual “hot one” accolade by Radio X’s John Kennedy, spotlighted on KINK FM in Holland, praised highly by Radio 6, play-listed by Amazing Radio for The Unsigned Guide and championed by their local BBC Introducing station as one of their top ten artists for 2021(courtesy of BBC Newcastle's Nick Roberts).
The Line of Best Fit and Clash magazine have also shown Jango Flash a lot of love through previous single features and reviews.
The band’s last music video for “Perseid 45” won the ‘Young Filmmaker of the Year’ award at one of the UK's leading film and TV festivals, Cinemagic. Derry Girls Saoirse Monica Jackson, who is Cinemagic’s most recent patron, said:
“As a proud patron of Cinemagic and their ethos to inspire the next generation of creatives, I am delighted to extend my congratulations to Jango Flash and Yakamoz on their video Perseid 45. Competitions like the Young Filmmaker help to showcase young talent and Cinemagic works fervently to create opportunities like this to give young people a voice.”
The collective is currently locked away in their riverside lair writing and recording an album, working with their in house film team on new art and rehearsing in training for the late 2021 circuit.
Now with a new podcast in development as well as a range of candles and high-end merchandise, the band continue to stay relentlessly creative in the face of the music industry’s tarnished climate.
