The Strands are a five-piece indie-rock outfit hailing from the working class corners of
the North East. Emerging onto the Newcastle music scene with their brazen single,
‘Made of Art’ , The Strands caught immediate intrigue of top grassroots venue
promoters and regional/national radio, securing an interview/session on talkRADIO
and airplay on BBC Introducing whilst also securing support slot shows with Larkins
and BLOXX and appearing on the lineup for This is Tomorrow Festival.
After ending 2020 on a high with the release of their self-produced single, ‘Nothing
Else’ and gaining support from the likes of This Feeling and BBC Introducing, four-
piece indie-rock outfit The Strands kicked off their 2021 with an emotional single,
‘Wavey’. The release of their next hook-laden, rock & roll inspired single, ‘Happy’,
quickly gained positive acclaim from Amazing Radio, BBC Introducing and
Led by the mesmerising vocals of frontman Dean Herron, supported by Joe Cooper
(Drums), Kyle McCalum (Guitar), David Barrow (Guitar) and Peter Kinmond (Bass),
The Strands’ material is a generous helping of hard-hitting indie rock, akin to artists
such as Blossoms, The Snuts, Sam Fender and The Strokes.
